WILL HEARD
Will Heard first broke through internationally in 2013 with his feature on Klangkarussell’s “Sonnentanz (Sun Don’t Shine)”, a Top 3 UK hit that introduced his distinctive blend of soulful vocals and jazz-inflected musicianship to the world. Having signed early to Trevor Horn’s Perfect Songs, he went on to collaborate with artists including Rudimental—co-writing and featuring on five tracks from their crtically acclaimed “We the Generation” album. Following this he went on to work with a host of high profile names including Tom Misch, Disclosure, Tourist, Elli Ingram, Jimmy Napes, Kygo, and Anne-Marie. His debut EP, Trust, arrived in 2017, followed by his first full-length album, Wild, in 2023, led by the singles “Wasteman” and “Flash Light”, both showcasing a more personal and reflective songwriting style.
A multi-instrumentalist who grew up playing saxophone before teaching himself guitar, piano, bass, and percussion, Heard draws on influences ranging from Herbie Hancock, Prince, and Parliament-Funkadelic to Nina Simone, Lauryn Hill, Amy Winehouse, and Jimi Hendrix. This breadth shapes a sound that moves fluidly between soul, jazz, R&B, and electronic music.
Heard has built a strong live reputation across the UK, selling out headline shows at venues such as Heaven in London, Gorilla in Manchester, and the O2 Institute in Birmingham. His year touring with Rudimental placed him on major stages worldwide, including Glastonbury—where he performed “Go Far” with George Clinton—Hyde Park, the Royal Albert Hall for Teenage Cancer Trust, Live at Leeds, Hit The North, and Barn on the Farm. Critics consistently highlight his dynamic musicianship, including his ability to switch between vocals and sax onstage.
Now releasing music independently through his label UnderHeard Records, Heard continues to evolve both in the studio and onstage. With new material and ongoing live plans, he is entering a fresh creative chapter that builds on a decade of acclaimed collaborations, chart success, and an ever-growing solo following.
